Sock #2 finished moments ago. Sock #1 and sock #2 are definitely fraternal twins, but with lots in common, including the quirky way the striping changed to a light color the very moment it was time to graft the toe.
Semi-random thoughts on my first pair of socks:
I’m glad I did this first pair on two circular needles; it made for easy traveling (less worry that a needle would slip out in transit) – sock #2 was largely a product of soccer game sidelines, and ballet and piano lesson waiting rooms, and went pretty quickly.
On the other hand, readjusting the needles every half-round felt slow; I kept wondering how much faster just going round and round on a set of dpns would be.
Can’t see myself working this much ribbing again for a long time.
It’s not easy to take a flattering photo of your feet in horizontal stripes.
More socks in my future? Absolutely. The next immediate project, though, is figuring how to get the button from Zimmermania over there in the left sidebar.
Closing with a cat photo to celebrate. (Every knitting blog needs at least one cat picture, right?)
